How It Began
A Simple Belief That Changed Everything
Off to Eden was founded in 2018 by a group of foster parents who had experienced firsthand the exhaustion, joy, and complexity of caring for children in need. After years of giving everything they had — and watching other families do the same — they asked a simple question: who takes care of the caregivers?
The answer became Off to Eden. A nonprofit resort where foster and adoptive families can step away from the weight of the world and simply be present with each other. No paperwork. No appointments. Just rest, beauty, and the reminder that they are not alone.

We provide fully funded resort retreats for foster and adoptive families — at no cost to them. Every stay is designed to restore connection, reduce burnout, and remind families that their sacrifice is seen, valued, and celebrated.

There are seasons when God invites us to build something that will outlive us. Off to Eden is one of those callings. Inspired in part by my grandmother's Depression‑era adoption and my own brief time in foster care as an infant, this mission has always been about one thing—giving adopted children a place to heal and giving families a place to bond without fear, pressure, or judgment.
As we move toward our 2027 Off to Eden program launch, our hearts are full of gratitude. Hotels across the country are stepping forward as partners, joining us in creating environments where children can finally exhale and parents can reconnect in peace. Because of your support, these kids will experience safety, stability, and joy—some for the very first time. They will learn what it feels like to be chosen, cherished, and welcomed into a space designed specifically for their healing. Families will leave stronger, more united, and more confident in the journey ahead.
